Custom domain

How to connect your own domain to your public page: which DNS records to add, what the check statuses mean and what changes once it is active.

Instead of an address like yemisce.com/studiya-ranok, clients can open your page on your own domain, such as studiya-ranok.com or book.studiya-ranok.com. Once active, the domain becomes the main address of your page and publications, and the old YEMISCE address redirects to it automatically.

What you need

  • a domain you already own;
  • access to the DNS settings where your domain is managed (usually your domain registrar or hosting provider).
You can connect one domain to your page.

Step 1. Add the domain

  1. Open “Page” → “Custom domain”.
  2. In the “Custom domain” field, enter the domain, for example studiya-ranok.com — without https://, a path or a trailing slash.
  3. Select “Connect”.
You'll see “The domain was added. Configure DNS, then check the connection.” and the “Add the DNS record” block.

Step 2. Add the DNS records

The “Add the DNS record” block has a table with “Type”, “Name” and “Value” columns. Each value has a “Copy” button.
Open your domain's DNS settings and create the records exactly as shown in the table:
  • Domain without www (studiya-ranok.com): an A record named @, an AAAA record named @ (if it appears in the table), and a CNAME record named www pointing to your domain.
  • Subdomain (book.studiya-ranok.com): an A record and, if shown, an AAAA record. The “Name” column shows the full subdomain. Many DNS services only need the first part — book.
You don't need to change your mail (MX) records.

Step 3. Check the connection

New DNS records don't take effect instantly — usually it takes from a few minutes to a few hours. Then select “Check”.
The domain status is shown next to its name, with “Domain verification” and “Secure connection” lines below:
  • “Waiting for DNS” — YEMISCE can't see the required records yet, or sees extra ones. Check the records, wait and select “Check” again.
  • “SSL issuing” — DNS is set up correctly and YEMISCE is issuing a certificate for a secure connection. Wait a few minutes and select “Check” again.
  • “Active” — the domain is connected. The DNS records block disappears.
  • “Error” — the check could not be completed. Select “Check” again a bit later.

What changes once the domain is active

  • Your public page opens on your domain, and publications at addresses like studiya-ranok.com/posts/….
  • The old YEMISCE address redirects to your domain, so links and QR codes you've already shared keep working.
  • In “SEO and page address”, the “Public URL” field shows your domain, and “Open public page ↗” opens the page there.
  • For a domain without www, the www address redirects to the main domain.

Disconnecting the domain

Select “Disconnect” and confirm in the “Disconnect custom domain” dialog. You'll see “The custom domain was disconnected. The YEMISCE address is primary again.”
You can then delete the DNS records you added for YEMISCE in your DNS service. To connect a different domain, disconnect the current one first.

FAQ

I see “Enter a valid domain, for example example.com.” Make sure you entered only the domain: no https://, path, spaces or trailing slash. YEMISCE's own addresses can't be connected.
I see “This domain or its www address is already connected to another business.” The domain is already used on another YEMISCE page. If you're sure the domain is yours, write to us at hello@yemisce.com.
I see “Disconnect the current domain first.” A domain is already connected to your page. Select “Disconnect” and then add the new one.
I see “The domain operation could not be completed. Check the configuration and try again.” Try again a bit later. If the message keeps appearing, write to us at hello@yemisce.com.
I see “Custom-domain routing is not configured in this environment yet.” Connecting domains isn't available right now. Write to us at hello@yemisce.com.
The domain has been “Waiting for DNS” for a long time. Compare your records with the table character by character, make sure there are no other A or AAAA records for this name and that proxying is off. If you've just changed the records, wait a few more hours.
Can I connect several domains? No, one domain can be connected to a page at a time. For a domain without www, the www address works automatically.
