You choose a primary language and additional ones, add translations of your texts, and clients switch the language right on the page.
Turning on several languages
- Open “Page” → “Business profile”.
- In “Primary page language”, choose the language your main texts are written in: name, description, questions, publications.
- Under “Page languages”, tick the additional languages: UA, PL, EN, RU. The primary language can't be unticked — it is always on.
- Select “Save”.
Translation fields then appear in the cabinet.
Where to enter translations
- Business name and tagline — “Business profile” → the “Translations” block. Each additional language has an expandable row with two fields; empty fields show the primary-language text as a hint.
- City and address — “Contacts and location” → the “Translations” block. It only exists for the “Physical location” mode.
- Section titles and subtitles, the “About us” text — “Page sections” → “Configure” next to the section. Each language has “Section title” and “Subtitle”, and “About us” also has “Section text”.
- Questions (FAQ) — every question and answer is filled in for all page languages; these fields are required. See FAQ and publications.
- Publications — the “Translations” block in the publication form: title, slug, short description and content. Translation is optional.
- SEO title and Meta description — “SEO and page address”. There is a language switch above the fields. See Appearance, SEO, page address and QR code.
Select “Save” after changes in each block.
YEMISCE shows buttons, system labels and the booking form in the right language by itself. Standard section titles such as “Questions” or “Useful” are also translated automatically as long as you haven't changed them.
What is not translated
- service names and descriptions — they appear in every language exactly as entered in “Services”;
- specialists' names and descriptions;
- gallery photo captions;
- client reviews and your replies.
If many of your clients don't read the primary language, you can write the service name in two languages, for example “Масаж спини / Back massage”. See Services: creating and editing.
What clients see
When the page has more than one language, a switcher with the current language code appears at the top: UA, PL, EN or RU. Clients open it and pick another language.
Which language the page opens in:
- If the client has already picked a language on your page, the browser remembers it and the page opens in that language.
- If not — in the client's browser language, if it is one of your page languages.
- Otherwise — in the primary language.
To send a client a link in a specific language, add
?lang= and the language code to your page address: uk, pl, en or ru. For example, yemisce.com/studiya-ranok?lang=en opens the English version.Removing a language
Untick the language under “Page languages” and select “Save”. The language disappears from the switcher. Your translations are not deleted: if you turn the language back on later, they come back.
Changing the primary language
Choose another language in “Primary page language” and select “Save”. The previous primary language stays among the additional ones.
The texts in the main fields (name, tagline, questions, publications and so on) are then treated as texts in the new primary language. Translations of the name, tagline, city and address apply only to additional languages: in the primary language the page always shows the main fields. So, if needed, enter texts in the new language in the main fields, and texts for the previous primary language in the “Translations” blocks. Check them, and open the page in each language via “Open public page ↗” to make sure everything looks right.
FAQ
Why is there no language switcher on my page?
Only one language is on. Tick additional languages under “Page languages” and save.
Clients see some text in another language.
That text has no translation, so the primary language is shown. Check the “Translations” blocks and section fields. Service names are not translated — see above.
The page opens in English although my primary language is Ukrainian.
This happens when the browser is set to English or the client picked English in the switcher earlier. They can change it in the switcher, or you can share a link with
?lang=uk.After turning on a new language I can't add a question.
Each new question needs “Question” and “Answer” in every page language, at least 2 characters each.
Can I add another language, such as German?
No. Four page languages are available: Ukrainian, Polish, English and Russian.
