Rescheduling a booking: button and drag and drop

Two ways to move a client's booking to another time: from the booking card or by dragging it in the calendar. What YEMISCE checks and who gets notified.

You can reschedule a booking in two ways: enter a new date and time in the booking card, or simply drag the tile in the calendar. Either way, YEMISCE checks that the new time is free and notifies the client.
Only a confirmed booking that hasn't started yet can be moved, and only to a future time. Past visits and bookings marked “Completed” or “No-show” stay where they were.

With the button in the booking card

  1. In the calendar, click the booking and choose “Details”.
  2. In the booking card, change the “Date” and “Time”.
  3. Click “Reschedule”.
The booking stays with the same specialist and keeps its length. Once saved, “Saved.” appears at the top.
The card of a past booking has no “Date” and “Time” fields and no “Reschedule” button.

To move one participant of a group class, click the class tile, choose “Details” next to that participant and reschedule their booking the same way.

By dragging in the calendar

Dragging works when “Drag bookings in calendar” is on in “Settings” → “Booking”. It is on by default.
  1. Open the calendar in “Calendar” mode.
  2. Press and hold a booking tile and drag it to the new time. The grid moves in 15-minute steps.
  3. YEMISCE asks for confirmation, for example “Move booking to 14:00 with Andrii?”, and shows the old and the new start time.
  4. Click “Confirm”. “Cancel” puts the booking back.
Dragging can do a few things the booking card can't:
  • Another specialist. In the “Day” view, when two or more specialists are selected in the filter, each has their own column. Drag the booking into another specialist's column. That specialist must perform the service — this is set on the “Performers” tab of the service.
  • Different length. Drag the bottom edge of the tile. YEMISCE asks “Change booking duration?”.
Nothing is saved until you confirm — even if you dropped the tile by accident.

What YEMISCE checks

The new time must be free. If it isn't, the booking stays where it was and the reason appears at the top:
  • “This time overlaps another booking.”
  • “This time is blocked.”
  • “This time is busy in Google Calendar.”
  • “This time is outside the specialist's working hours.”
  • “This time is outside the business hours (“Settings” → “Business” → “Business opening hours”).”
  • “Only upcoming bookings can be moved, and only to a future time.”
Preparation and break time between bookings from “Settings” → “Booking” are taken into account too.

What happens after rescheduling

  • The client receives a reschedule notification with the new time. This event is required and can't be turned off. If only the length changed and the start time and specialist stayed the same, no notification is sent.
  • If the old time is still in the future, it becomes free and appears in the calendar as “freed”. What you can do with it is covered in Freed-up time: how to fill it.
  • If the specialist has connected Google Calendar, the event there is updated too.

FAQ

The tile won't move. Check that “Drag bookings in calendar” is on in “Settings” → “Booking”. Dragging only works in “Calendar” mode, not in “List”. Group classes can't be dragged. Past bookings and bookings marked “Completed” or “No-show” can't be moved.
How do I change the specialist with the button? You can't change the specialist in the booking card. Drag the booking into the column of another specialist who performs this service, in the “Day” view, or cancel it and create a new one.
Can a team member reschedule bookings? Yes, their own bookings — if they have the “Reschedule own bookings” permission. See Staff permissions.
The client wants to reschedule on their own. They can do it from the link in their confirmation, if you allow it. See Cancellation and rescheduling by the client.
